Channeling is a New Age or modern form of spiritism or mediumship. A person allows a spiritual entity to temporarily enter and use their body so the spirit can interact with other people. Most channelers are not even aware of what goes on during the time the entity takes over them. Channeling is considered positive in New Age circles to expand spiritual development.

What Does God's Word say About Channeling?
"When thou art come into the land which the LORD thy God giveth thee, thou shalt not learn to do after the abominations of those nations. There shall not be found among you any one that maketh his son or his daughter to pass through the fire, or that useth divination, or an observer of times, or an enchanter, or a witch, or charmer, or a consulter with familiar spirits, or a wizard, or a necromancer. For all that do these things are an abomination unto the LORD: and because of these abominations the LORD thy God doth drive them out from before thee. Thou shalt be perfect with the LORD thy God" (Deuteronomy 18:9-13).


FAMILIAR SPIRIT - "A divining demon present in the physical body of the conjurer. "A man or a woman who is a medium or a spiritist". . . . The term familiar is used to describe the demon because it was regarded by the English translators as a servant ("famulus"), belonging to the family (familiaris"), who was on intimate terms with and might be readily summoned by the one possessing it. Thus a familiar spirit is a divining demon, and the ancient world, as well as the modern, had traffic in spiritism, not as mere trickery but as a spiritual reality of evil nature." (1)
Also to imitate dead human beings, make predictions, promote doctrines. (2 Kings 21:6; 2 Chronicles 33:6; Isaiah 19:3).

The Scriptures of the Old Testament named forbidden practices that God's people were clearly told not to participate in. "Regard not them that have familiar spirits, neither seek after wizards, to be defiled by them: I am the LORD your God" (Leviticus 19:31); also "And the soul that turneth after such as have familiar spirits, and after wizards, to go a whoring after them, I will even set my face against that soul, and will cut him off from among his people" (Leviticus 20:6).

Heed the warning of well-known cult researcher Walter Martin:

". . . or it is the direct testimony of Holy Scripture that Spiritualism is the masquerade of demonic forces, who pretend to be departed spirits with the intent of deceiving through the power of Satan those foolish enough to believe the testimony of demons in preference to the authority of the Word of God Himself." (2)

These were and still are very serious sins in the eyes of a holy God. Any Israelites who were mediums (channelers) or participated in sorcery were to be put to death!
"A man also or woman that hath a familiar spirit, or that is a wizard, shall surely be put to death: they shall stone them with stones: their blood shall be upon them" (Leviticus 20:27).

Whether it be the term channeling, a medium, consulter of familiar spirits, spiritualism, or necromancy (communication with the dead), these practices are abominations in God's eyes and God's judgment will be on all those who practice such things.


DOCTRINES OF DEVILS
Those who serve as channelers or mediums will always end up coming into bondage with the occult. This will not in any way produce fellowship with God, because He undeniable forbids it. God never changes His word. Those who participate in channeling spiritual guides, masters, aliens or archangels, and even spirits of the dead, will surely be deceived by demonic lies that have no truth in them. As the channeler is experiencing this happening to them, they will believe that this knowledge they receive is truth because of their experience. They will put trust in their emotions. God who loves us has warned us already not to do this, because He knew from the beginning many would be deceived by it. Satan's goal is to persuade a person to trust in his or her own intuition or feelings, rather than obey what God has clearly commanded in His word. Satan deceitfully persuades that an experience is more reliable than submitting to God's commandments.

A spiritual experience is an encounter with another spiritual being. God, humans, angels and demons all are spiritual. What we must determine is which one(s) is being channeled? Let's take a look at the realistic answer that Lutzer and DeVries write in their book called" Satan's 'Evangelistic' Strategy For This New Age";

"Since a person cannot have a spiritual experience with himself, it follows that the New Agers must be making contact with some other spiritual beings. Good angels are off-limits because they respond primarily to God and minister only to those who are children of God through faith in Jesus Christ. Nowhere does the Bible teach that we should make contact with these beings; rather, it forbids contacting any supernatural power except God.
So either the New Agers are making contact with the true God or wicked spirits who are available for communication. God must be ruled out, since the New Agers (1) deny that He has an existence independent of the universe, and (2) reject the belief that Christ is the only way to God the Father. That leaves demonic spirits who are only too glad to make contact with humans and give them a genuine "spiritual experience". (3)

The Bible warns us about doctrines of devils that teach everything that is opposed to the truth of God's word; "Now the Spirit speaketh expressly, that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils; (1 Timothy 4:1).

The Bible reveals all a person needs to know about life after death. Every other source will be a lie from the "father of lies", Satan himself. After a person dies their spirit and soul will either go to heaven (saved by the Lord Jesus Christ), or hell (rejection of the Lord Jesus Christ). There is no purgatory, no reincarnation, and no nirvana. These lies are taught by doctrines of devils.


Christians Beware!!!
Lets take a look at the warning Christian author Merrill F. Unger gives:

"Christians who attend séances or expose themselves to occult powers not only lose interest in spiritual things but become opposed to the truth of God. Ministers and lay workers who have dabbled in spiritism have experienced demonic opposition to such a degree that they have often been compelled to give up their Christian work. Many become enslaved and oppressed by occult powers and become victims of various manifestation of spiritistic phenoma". (4)

Channeling entities (Spiritism) and Christianity have absolutely nothing in common.

SEEK THE TRUE GOD
God our creator wants us to only consult Him and experience Him . "For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the LORD, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end. Then shall ye call upon me, and ye shall go and pray unto me, and I will hearken unto you. And ye shall seek me, and find me, when ye shall search for me with all your heart (Jeremiah 29:11-13). God will surely be known to all those who seek Him with all their hearts. How wonderful it is to consult the true God rather than dabble in forbidden practices. Those who seek after these occultic practices will surely fall into deception and enslavement that will result in heavy consequences. Those that seek after the God of the Bible will experience the truth that sets one free! "If the Son therefore shall make you free, ye shall be free indeed" John 8:36.
