""WHAT IS PRIDE?"

The word "pride" is when someone lifts himself up above others. It is to become that proud with ones own self that the person becomes disobedient against God.

The Old Testament prophet Obadiah wrote:
"The pride of thine heart hath deceived thee" (Obadiah 1:3).

Lucifer deceived himself. He is now the deceiver of all mankind. His heart was lifted up because of pride. Lucifer became filled with pride and rebellion because of his beauty, wisdom, and priviledges he had on the mountain of God.

Satan's plan backfired on himself. He willed himself to ascend into heaven, but ended up being cast out of heaven by his mighty Creator, God (Isaiah 14:12-13).
